Notes - Family Search lists a data problem as "Birth after Mother's Death." I had submitted this information with her death date as between 1863 and 1865. I had Richard's birth year as 1863 based on the 1870 and 1880 census. He was apparently raised by his grandparents. Also, recall that Hiram Larimore was away in the army from 20 Mar 1862 until discharge 21 Jan 1864. I had assumed that he was discharged because of illness or injury, but he could have been discharged because his wife had died.
At this point I see no reason to think that George Richard Lairmore and Richard Larimore are the same person. George is not a name that is used in either side of the family. Seemingly, the only apparent connection is the name Richard (Lairmore/Larimore) and the birth date which approximately matches. Documents which might help would be Hiram's discharge and pension papers, Census records for George/ Richard Lairmore/ Larimore, an obituary for George Richard Larimore.
