    Funeral Services Held Monday for Frank Chalupsky

    Born in Bohemia in 1853. He came to America in 1870.

    Mr. Frank Chalupsky, a retired farmer of the Luzerne community, passed away Saturday, April 22nd, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Benishek, living near this city. His death followed a protracted illness of many months.

    Mr. Chalupsky was born in Bohemia on Feb. 27, 1853, and was 86 years of age on February 27 last. He came to America in 1870 and lived in Cedar Rapids for 8 years. December 9, 1877 he was married to Anna Loyka at Cedar Rapids and the next year moved to the Luzerne community. They were the parents of six children, namely, Mrs. Anna Benishek of this vicinity, Mrs. Eva Longhurst of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Emma Torrence of Iowa City, Chas. Chalupsky of Blairstown, Mrs. Lilly Petersen of Waterloo, and Mrs. Helen LaQuatte of Berkley, Calif. Also surviving are one brother, Paul Chalupsky of Vinton and one sister, Mrs. Antonia Ziha of Irving. There are twenty-four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    Mrs. Chalupsky preceded him in death, dying Dec. 26, 1924. One brother, Joseph, died in 1938.

    Funeral services in charge of the Rev. J. Irvine Walker of this city and the Rev. W. H. Yoder of the Church of the Brethern of Waterloo were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Congregational church in this city. Mrs. G. L. Edwards sang Rock of Ages and In the Garden with Mrs. Marie Penrose.

    Pall bearers were his grandsons, Claire Banishek, Arting Langhurst, Ray Langhurst, Howard Petersen, and Bernard Chalupsky. Interment was made at the International cemetery south of Luzerne.
