  Boonville Daily News: Obituary of Emil Johnmeyer Longtime Fayette resident, Jacob O. (Jake) Johnmeyer died Thursday morning (Oct. 25, 2007) at Fayette Caring Center. He was 85. Born in Cooper County, Sept. 1, 1922, he was the son of Albert N. and Marie Neef Johnmeyer. On Dec. 12, 1945, he married Mildred Robb in Fayette. A veteran of World War II, he served as a member of the United States Army. Mr. and Mrs. Johnmeyer made their home near Fayette for many years where he was well known as a farmer, dairyman and stableman. During that time, he also worked in the construction industry. Mr. Johnmeyer is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home; and four daughters, Sharon Himmelberg of Higbee; Susan McBain and her husband, Pete, of Fayette; Colleen Wies and her husband, Larry, of Fayette; and Colette Thies and her husband, Paul, of Glasgow; and two sons, Jerry Johnmeyer and his wife, Kathy, of Armstrong; and Jacob D. Johnmeyer of Fayette. Also surviving is one sister, Alberta Newman and her husband, Bill, of Springfield; and 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ernest, Emil, Julius, Raymond, and Hillard Johnmeyer, and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with the Rev. Harold Young officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
