• Notes

  According to Pat Patterson's web site, John spent time in Virginia as early as 1730 and apparently moved back to New Jersey in the early 1740's. In about 1760-61 they settled in Frederick, VA. Per Quaker records, they moved back and forth quite a bit and were also in Warrington, PA for a short time. In 1765 Frederick, VA one of his neighbors was John Painter, father of Jane / Jeane Painter who married his son Thomas in 1760.
